Expo4Bio: first Belgian trade fair for organic chain in 2015

On 25 and 26 March 2015, the first Belgian trade fair for the organic value chain will take place. The fair is called Expo4Bio and is organized by easyFairs and Bio Forum Vlaanderen (industrial organization for organic food and agriculture). The fair will be a meeting point for the actors of the organic chain as well as a knowledge platform with a broad programme of lectures and workshops, according to Bio Forum Vlaanderen. The fair concentrates on the participants of the whole chain: producers, processors, suppliers, wholesalers, food service and retail. It aims at exhibitors and visitors from Luxembourg, Northern France, the Netherlands and Germany.

The demand for organics has been increasing in Belgium year on year and seems to be resistant to the crisis: last year, €417m were spent for organics in Belgium. In 2012, 89% of Belgian households bought organics occasionally, and 18% regularly bought organic products. Expo4Bio aims to support this trend, to strengthen the sector and to facilitate the interactions between stakeholders. More information (in Dutch) is available from Bio Forum Vlaanderen.
