Italy: Tutto Bio 2014 launched

The organic yearbook Tutto Bio 2014 is available now. At its 20th edition, it is published by Bio Bank and edited by Achille Mingozzi and Rosa Maria Bertino. It costs 16 euros and can be purchased in various stores in Italy or online here: http://www.ibs.it. Over 10,600 organic operators in Italy are published on 360 pages. For the first time, e-commerce businesses on organic and natural cosmetics and organic perfumeries were counted.
 
Sales points: 1,277 shops, 14 supermarkets, 63 e-commerce businesses
Direct sales: 25 offering groups, 2,287 companies, 147 e-commerce businesses, 231 farmers’ markets, 887 purchasing groups
Catering: 1,567 agriturisms, 350 restaurants
Food: 13 control bodies, 70 companies, 106 fairtrade companies
Cosmetics and cleaners: 10 control bodies, 215 companies, 49 perfumeries, 70 e-commerce businesses
Children: 13 catering companies, 1,236 school canteens, 619 educational farms
Promotion: 36 fairs, 144 associations

The annual census is the heart of the Bio Bank report. The new report is also featured in Tutto Bio. It compares the numbers of organic operators of 2013 to those of 2004.

The Bio Card is included as well – a discount of 10% can be obtained at 716 operators like agritourisms, restaurants, direct sales and stores. Curiosity, passion and motivation – these positive energies animate twenty stories of young people who have chosen to work in the organic sector. “Me? I work in the organic sector” is this year's theme of Tutto Bio, presenting twenty experiences of courageous, innovative people that represent the multifaceted world of organics and thousands of young people who work there.
