A business consultant (lover of wine and organics) and an industrialist enter EcorNaturaSì, the Italian leader in the organic market. The new shareholders are Giorgio Rossi Cairo (CEO of the strategic consultant firm Value Partners) through his family investment company Forever, and Renzo Rosso (patron of the Diesel fashion group) through his family investment company Red Circle Investments. "I think high-quality food is the real luxury today”, Renzo Rosso said. “And if you can marry this concept with a return to an equal relationship with those working in agriculture, ensuring the right profits and a continuity of income, and with a respect for the earth, which is now at historic lows, putting at risk our health and our future, everyone can come out winners." He is excited about this experience that he considers unique and a model for Italy. In a moment of crisis, to find people who look to the future as Fabio Brescacin and his friends gives him energy. “We have the same philosophy: to make quality products, of democratic luxury, to improve lives. The future of young people can be really the earth”, he continues. "I have peasant roots and I'm sure healthy eating and without chemicals is the true luxury of the future. I hope my know-how in marketing and international markets cannot only help the company grow but also to create jobs and smart modern agriculture”.

Giorgio Rossi Cairo, whose share in EcorNaturaSì is around 9%, operates throughout the world and is an entrepreneur, among other things, in luxury sectors. His family is also owner of the biodynamic farm La Raia at Novi Ligure (Piedmont), known for the production of Gavi DOCG wine, award-winning in leading wineguides.

EcorNaturaSì has been operating since 1987 through the brands NaturaSì with 113 stores throughout Italy that are partly owned, and partly are operating in franchising and Cuorebio, a network of about 300 independent stores with coordinated commercial and communication activities. Over time, it has built up a network of suppliers of quality organic products, some of which are involved in special projects. The year 2013 closed with a consolidated value of production of EcorNaturaSì, which also owns Baule Volante (specialized in the sale of organic products to small shops) of approximately €230m, an increase of 12% over the previous year.

The development strategies of the new shareholding structure of EcorNaturaSì are clear enough: in a first phase, thanks to the money and managerial skills guaranteed by the new partners, the widespread presence in Italy will the strengthened. There is an idea that in a later phase the experience made in Italy may be exported. The other shareholders are the Rudolf Steiner Antroposophic Foundation and the Parravicini Crespi family, owners of the Cascine Orsine biodynamic farm.
