Good Farm Animal Welfare Awards 2013

by Redaktion (comments: 0)

Food journalist and presenter of BBC Radio 4’s The Food Programme, Sheila Dillon (picture) is to host this year’s Good Farm Animal Welfare Awards run by charity Compassion in World Farming. The event will take place in Paris on 30 October 2013.

The awards are in their sixth year and in 2013 they promise to be bigger and better than ever with one ceremony taking place in Paris to celebrate the achievements of the entire European market including UK winners. By holding one combined awards event rather than the usual two - one in London and one in Paris - Compassion hopes to continue to drive farm animal welfare up the agenda across Europe.

The Good Farm Animal Welfare Awards recognise companies that demonstrate their commitment to meeting a set of species-specific welfare criteria, across defined food categories, and 100% of their supply chain. There are four core award categories: Good Egg, Good Chicken, Good Dairy and Good Pig Awards. The Retailer Awards comprise of four sub-categories: Best Retailer, Best Performing Retailer, Best Retailer Innovation and Best Retailer Marketing Award.
