Italy: Almaverde Bio grows continuously

In the first half of 2013, Almaverde Bio increased its production value to €19.6m. Sales grew to over €32m, an increase of 10% over the same period in 2012. The results achieved by the Group, which involves eleven partners specialized in different sectors of production, cover all business categories. (Picture: packaged salads from Almaverde)
 

One of the reasons for the increase was the constant introduction of new references. Strong growth was reported for the most innovative products like frozen fish, special flours and vegetarian items. The fresh produce of Almaverde Bio has also developed well since many stores have created “organic islands”. With a dedicated space to organics, where organic products can easily be identified by consumers, sales increases have often exceeded 20% . Almaverde Bio will continue to oversee all sales channels in Italy – supermarkets, specialty stores, and the Horeca sector.


The project Bio - Bar, in collaboration with Camst , will be continued. During Sana, the international fair for natural and organic products in Italy, Almaverde Bio fruit corners were presented. This year, the process for the opening of the first Almaverde Bio stores in the area of Milan will be completed. It is a common project of Organic Food Retail, the joint venture formed by the KI Group, and the Organic Alliance, the holding company formed by companies licensed to use the brand Almaverde Bio.
