Eco Fashion Exposed launches in New Zealand

by Redaktion (comments: 0)

The first NZ Eco Fashion Exposed event has just been announced. It will take place on 21 September 2013, according to the designer Denise Anglesey - founder of the event - and her husband Vinnie Anglesey, who is co-founder. Venue is The Notre Dame des Missions Arts Centre at Sacred Heart College, Laings Road, Lower Hutt, Wellington, New Zealand. Eco Fashion Exposed will be an eco fashion runway of ecologically, environmentally and ethically sustainable, plus up-cycled fashion.

Ever since Denise began designing, manufacturing and marketing her own personal brand of up-cycled garments in 2008, this inaugural runway event has been in her mind. She aims to highlight and make accessible to the public eco-fashion options, including wearable fashion, accessories, gifts and items for the home. “We are cutting the red tape with this event and hope to grow it over the next few years into being a full Eco Fashion Week,” Denise explains. “It is a introduction – a taste of bigger and better things to come”. The eco runway show will feature up to fourteen ethical, eco, up-cycling designers including Denise’s own label - Denise H Eco Design. Also featuring in the show will be 'Sustainable Style' Model 2013 Hannah Pasene. There will also be a Eco Fashion Show Case Pop Up of children’s wear, jewellery, accessories, skincare, makeup and gifts to match the theme. The show has its own professional stylist – Auckland based Nora Swann of Kila’s Style, who will be showing people how to build a fashionable sustainable wardrobe that matches people’s lifestyles and colouring. At the Shwop & Style with Nora, customers get to 'shwop' good quality garments no longer required for something they will use.
