Organic Week in Catalonia

From 26 April to 4 May 2013, the Organic Week for Ecological Food (Setmana Bio per l’Alimentació Ecològica) will take place in Catalonia. This series of events was created to connect people and to promote the consumption of organics in the region - all under one umbrella.

According to the survey results of the Barometer of Perception and Consumption of Organic Food in Catalonia, nearly two-thirds of the Catalan population is considered as "not informed on organics" at this point of time, although it seems that the situation is improving. Intensified promotion and dissemination actions will help to reach more people.

The week of promotion is part of the Programme for the Promotion of Organic Food Production 2012-2014, established by the Government of Catalonia. More Information and details on the events are available here (in Catalan): Generalitat de Catalunia
