Organic agriculture - text book in English and in Russian

by Redaktion (comments: 0)

Organic Farming” provides anyone interested in this type of farming with a practically focused textbook. In this book, one finds a basic summary of work covering all relevant themes in which the most competent authors, coordinated by the Czech experts Bořivoj Šarapatka and Jiří Urban, provide definitive contributions valid not only within the Czech Republic. The book is recommended for practical agriculture but also as a textbook for teachers and students. The real value of this book lies in the fact that it has been compiled by a number of specialists and institutions focusing on organic farming to fill a gap in the demand for a comprehensive publication.

The book contains a chapter about the history and present status of organic farming in Europe, the legal status of organic agriculture methods (in accordance with European Council Regulation (EC) No. 834/2007 and Commission Regulation No. 889/2008), environmental effects of organic agriculture, plant production, soil, plant nutrition and fertilization, cultivation of the crop, weed control, permanent grassland, organic fruit and vegetable-growing, organic viticulture and wine-making, animal husbandry and animal breeding.

The book “Organic  Agriculture” (in English) was published by the Institute of Agricultural Economics and Information (IAEI) Prague and the Russian version “Органическое сельское хозяйство“ was published by Bioinstitute Olomouc. Orders can be placed at the scientific bookshop: mcentrum@sci.muni.cz. The English version is avialable for 10 euros plus postage, and the Russian version costs 15 euros plus postage. More information is available here: www.bioinstitut.cz
