Biocaseus – award for the best European organic cheeses

Feta, ricotta, pecorino, mozzarella and many others -  a total of 142 cheeses from organic dairies in Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, France, Belgium, Holland, Spain and Greece entered the 6th edition of BioCaseus. The international prize for the best organic cheeses is organised by UPBIO (National Union of Organic and Biodynamic Producers), FederBio, and others, in cooperation with international organisations from Belgium, Germany, Spain, France, Switzerland, and Greece.

 

A jury of 50 international experts chose the best cheeses for their odor, taste /  aroma, texture, appearance, shape, colour, holes and consistency. 36 cheeses, three for each of 13 categories, will be awarded with a prize. The presentation of the awards will take place during BioFach in Nuremberg at the stand of Mipaaf - the Italian Ministry for Agriculture, Food and Forests - (Hall 1, 450) on 15 February 2012.
