Biocaseus 2012

The sixth edition of Biocaseus, the international competition of organic cheeses, involves producers of organic cheese of European countries like Italy, France, Spain, Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium. Biocaseus is organized by FederBio in collaboration with the Italian Consorzio Ecosviluppo Sardegna, Consorzio garanziaBIO, ASAB Sardegna, ICEA (Institute for Ethical and Environmental Certification), BIOL Italia, Unaprobio, Veneto Agricoltura, Sennerei Verband Südtirol, Bioland Südtirol, Bioland Germany, Bioforum (Belgium) and VHM - Verein Handwerkliche Milchverarbeitung (Germany).
 

From 12 to 14 December 2011, a cheese reception will take place at the Institute for Food Quality and Technology of Veneto Agriculture and cheeses will be classified into categories. On 15 December 2011 the competing cheeses will be evaluated by an international panel of experts. On 19 December 2011 the first three finalists of each category will be selected. On 15 February 2012, the winners will be announed and awarded at BioFach and the results of the competition will be published in major food magazines.
