Northern Ireland: Heavenly Tasty Organics launched

by Redaktion (comments: 0)

A new organic baby food company has recently been launched in Northern Ireland, based at Loughry College Food Incubation Centre, Cookstown. Heavenly Tasty Organics is the brainchild of Shauna McCarney (picture), 32, a single mum of two, who founded the company to provide pure organic baby food in a convenient format for parents. Passionate about pure organic products, and seeing a gap in the organic baby food market, she founded the company in order to provide parents with a convenient offer: fresh frozen, organic fruit and vegetable purees for use when weaning babies from 4 months onto solid foods.

All the vegetables and fruit in the range are packaged in a 250g re-sealable pouch, with each pack containing 10 heart-shaped ice cube sized portions. There are currently eight products in the range; pear, apple, broccoli, sweet potato, butternut squash, carrot, turnip and parsnip. This range and the convenient packaging are the outcome of extensive research. Her products are currently available in 38 SuperValu stores and other selected independent stores all over Northern Ireland.

Shauna has achieved Soil Association accreditation for her products and processes and is a member of Good Food NI. Heavenly Tasty Organics have also recently won ‘Best Business Start-up’ in the Omagh Business Awards 2011. They have also been nominated in the ‘Innovation/ Entrepreneurship’ category in the Women in Business Awards 2011, which are due to take place on 18 November 2011 in Belfast.
