USA: Organic Trade Resource Guide website launched

by Redaktion (comments: 0)

The Organic Trade Association has unveiled a new Organic Trade Resource Guide website to help facilitate international trade in organic agricultural products. The announcement was made in Seoul, South Korea, during the recent International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements World Congress. The Organic Trade Resource Guide will serve as a resource for companies in the USA seeking to learn more about export requirements and organic regulations worldwide.

The companies can select the country to which they wish to export and find out if the market is open or if trade barriers exist, what the country’s laws and standards for organic are, who to contact to help in exporting to that country, and much more. The website includes an interactive map showing real-time up to date information on worldwide organic standards and trade arrangements. It is made possible through funding from the US Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service, as administered through OTA through its Organic Export Program.

The Organic Trade Association is the membership-based business association for organic agriculture and products in North America. OTA is the leading voice for the organic trade in the USA, representing over 6,500 organic businesses across 49 states. Its members include growers, shippers, processors, certifiers, farmers' associations, distributors, importers, exporters, consultants, retailers, and others.
