Germany: Organic Wine Award 2011

by Redaktion (comments: 0)

Nine times „Grand Gold“, 64 times „Gold“ – organic wines were awarded again at this year´s International Organic Wine Award. Probably even more important than all the medallions were the detailed descriptions, which were generated by a qualified jury according to the Product-Analysis-Ranking-system (PAR), Bioweinpreis reports. This system enables each wine a detailed sensorial profile according to its characteristics.

PAR is easily comprehensible and allows any customer to work out which wine matches his demands perfectly. Furthermore this system gives the viniculturalists important information for production and marketing procedures.

Overall 16 skilled tasters evaluated 426 organic wines from eight different countries in Frasdorf, Germany in June 2011 (picture). “You have to invest a lot of time when evaluating a wine according to the PAR-system”, the tasting conductor Martin Darting, who developed this system, stated. Other than the so far common tasting systems, the PAR-system does not only consider the appearance, smell, taste and harmony of a wine. Instead this sophisticated system considers the detailed sensorial components and therewith creates an expressive picture of the evaluated wine. More information is available here:  Bioweinpreis
