Symposium: “What You See Is What You Get”

Geo Fair Trade invites to its symposium "What You See Is What You Get" in Wageningen, The Netherlands on 13 May 2011. The symposium will present and discuss the prototype of the Geo Fair Trade tool, an innovative tool to set clear parameters in Fair Trade Production and Fair Trade Monitoring, especially in ICS (Internet connection sharing) application. Six test sites allow to develop this tool based on specific cases. The event is free of charge.

The meeting will address the following points:
 

• The Geo Fair Trade project and its progress
• Applicability of the communication Tool: The Demonstrator
• Identification of operators that can have open access to this communication tool (P.Os, importers, manufacturers, distributors, certification bodies,marketers, etc.)
• Characteristics of these operators to have access (certification, membership associations, fair trade, etc.)
• Architecture of the different data sets (Fair Trade as well as sustainable development indicators) to link a consumer packaging of a particular FT product to the different producers groups
• Other relevant data relating to the marketing of fair trade products
