The Organics Brasil Project participates in Biofach Nuremberg with six companies: MN Propolis (honey), Triunfo (tea mate), Natural Fashion (clothing cotton), Rio de Una (vegetables), Arte da Terra (jewelry in golden grass) and Nutribotânica (acerola). At Vivaness, Surya and Foresta / Ikove (picture: procucts of the company) will be presented. More than 20 member companies will take part as partners of international distributors, such as Beraca (cosmetics) and of certification (IBD, IMO, Ecocert), or as visitors to strengthen customer relationships and exploring new areas of business. Mr Ming Liu, executive coordinator of Organics Brazil, explains that the prospects are good for business - a 20 % increase compared with last year's edition of BioFach is expected, which resulted in $ 6.2 million in exports to over 25 countries.

The Ministry of Agrarian Development (MDA) participates in Organics Brasil with 10 cooperatives producing brown sugar, rum, coffee, guarana, cocoa almonds, cashews and umbu. The two largest producers of sugar in the country (Native and Jalles Machado) are also associated with Organics Brazil. Together they represent about 70 % of all organic sugar consumed in the world market.

The year 2010 was very good for the 72 member companies of Organics Brasil, which exports totaled around US $ 108.2 million. "This result represented an increase of 130 % compared to 2009. Of this total, the food sector represented 96 %, especially sugar, fruit pulp (acai, acerola and orange), honey, nuts, and processed products such as those derived from fruits, grains and coffee," according to Ming Liu. "The organic market in the world remains high, and for the Organics Brasil Project, the expectation for business in 2011 is positive, with the inclusion of new companies that will be certified organic soon," explains Liu (picture). Organics Brasil is a partnership between the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brazil ) and the IPD (Institute for Promotion of Development):
