Denmark: Organic Research, Development and Demonstration programme

Beginning January 2011, eleven new organic projects have been launched under the Danish Organic GUDP Programme (Grønt Udviklings- og Demonstrationsprogram), Organic RDD (Organic Research, Development and Demonstration programme), which has three main themes: Growth, Integrity and Robust Systems. The projects are:

Higher Productivity in Danish arable crop production (HighCrop)
Organic pig production 2014 – without castration (NO-CAST)
PARasites in Organic Livestock: innovative solutions to new challenges (PAROL)

Integrated larvae production for feed in organic egg production (BIOCONVAL)
Influence of probiotics and feed on organic rainbow trout health (OPTIFISH)

The International Centre for Research in Organic Food Systems (ICROFS) was founded in 2008. The centre is an expansion of the former Danish Agricultural Research Centre for Organic Farming (DARCOF), which the Danish Government decided to provide with an international mandate and an international board.
