Italy: Almaverde announces new associates and advertising campaign

Almaverde announces an advertising campaign with Giorgio Celli, Alessandra Bordoni and Dino Amadori. The "reasons of choosing organics" are explained "in the words of science", Greenplanet reports. Giorgio Celli, ethologist, entomologist, TV host, writer, actor and university professor, explains the values and benefits of organic farming for the environment that maintains its natural integrity and enhances biodiversity, Alessandra Bordoni, nutritionist at the University of Bologna, recommends a varied and balanced diet, and suggests that organics are full of useful substances for the body. Dino Amadori, internationally renowned oncologist and scientific director of the Tumour Institute of Romagna: "It 's known that food is one of the key factors for the onset of serious diseases. Eating organics potentially helps protect the body."
 

Almaverde has also announced that four new companies are now among the licensees of the brand: Isalpa of Asti, a company specializing in organics by F.lli Saclà (olives, oils, vinegars, pickles, pickled vegetables, jams and marmalades, pesto and condiments), Natura Nuova di Bagnacavallo (fruit pulps and vegetable food products), Molino Spadoni of Ravenna for flour, bread and dairy and bakery products, and Circeo Pesca from Perugia for fresh fish and fish products. Today Almaverde Bio, with 2009 sales of 26.2 million euros representing a plus of 7.5 % compared on 2009, and in the first half of 2010 with a growth trend of 9.5 % over the same period in 2009, associates eleven Italian companies and offers a full range of fresh and processed organic products. "Almaverde Bio," says the president, Renzo Piraccini, "is an example of team play, unique in Italy. "
