USA: Equal Exchange partners with Ten Thousand Villages

by Redaktion (comments: 0)

Equal Exchange is expanding its organic and Fair Trade fundraising program for schools by teaming up with Ten Thousand Villages, the non-profit organization who helped pioneer the Fair Trade model over 50 years ago, CSR Wire reports. Equal Exchange's fundraising program already featured a full-line of organic, Fair Trade food and beverages line and enabled schools and community groups to raise funds for themselves. With this new partnership, fairly traded gifts for the home and hand-made tree-free gift wrap are offered as well.

Equal Exchange's fundraising program works both as an event or catalog sale as an easy way for student groups or similar to raise funds at a competitive margin while at the same time reinforcing social and environmental responsibility and encouraging global citizenship. A free curriculum that helps demonstrate the link between personal actions and community efforts to create a more just and sustainable world is also offered for download. Equal Exchange has been a pioneer and USA market leader in Fair Trade since 1986. Customers include grocery stores, restaurants, cafes, and schools, for example. Ten Thousand Villages is a Fair Frade retailer offering home and garden decor, jewelry, personal accessories and gift items in more than 150 retail outlets throughout the United States.
