Organics Brazil at BioFach

by Redaktion (comments: 0)

Brazil was already represented for the fifth time at BioFach in Germany. Eleven companies of the project Organics Brasil took part, as well as exhibitors from national projects such as the Ministry of Agrarian Development (MDA) with 20 cooperatives, and the Água Boa Project of Itaipu. The eleven companies with Organics Brasil at Biofach Nuremberg closed businesses worth 6,200,000 US $, with more than 25 countries. Some companies even entered markets in Eastern Europe. This result does not include the contracts by the cooperatives of MDA. "The result was a positive business within an international scenario of economic recovery, which last year had been extremely worrying in the light of the world crisis. We found a market that was recovering, and presented itself with a more realistic picture”, said Ming Liu, executive coordinator of Organics Brasil.

Another important point was the presence of Brazilian companies that - in previous editions- had participated  in the group of Brazil. This year, they came as independent visitors or with their local partners, such as Native, ABPO, Tozan, Preserva Mundi, Jasmine, Jales Machado, Cachaça Tiquara, Agropalma and Brazilian Forest. This is a clear sign of maturity, a development in the internationalisation process of Brazilian companies, which is important for the growth of the sector. The purpose of participation in Biofach is not only to close businesses, but also to promote a culture of internationalisation of companies in the world market. "What we saw was that this process stimulates the sector, develops the market, gives conditions to remain competitive and follows the latest trends on international and national markets,” emphasises Ming Liu. The Good Water Project (Itaipu Binational), which was represented at Biofach for the first time, is an example of an action to structure and to start the process of internationalisation and market positioning for the more than 1,200 families participating in the project of State of Paraná. (Picture: Itaipu's director Nelton Miguel Friedrich)
