by Redaktion (comments: 0)

The American journey continues at full swing for the three-year “BioBenessere” project co-financed by the European Union and Italy for the promotion and valorisation of organic food and agriculture products in extra European countries. After stops in Oakland, New York, San Francisco and Berkeley the project promoted by Pro.B.E.R., the Association of producers of some of the most important organic food and agriculture companies, landed in Miami, Florida. The meeting took place on Friday October 30th at the Hotel Bentley Hilton, with a seminar on “Organic diet for wellbeing: proposals to contrast the international market crisis and sustain public responsibility”. The event mainly put the spotlight on the use of organic products in a Mediterranean diet, a food model that thanks to its scientifically proven positive effects on health is now undergoing increasing success all over the world, especially in the United States.

The protagonists of the seminar were organic extra virgin olive oil, pasta and tomato sauce, the top products from the rich “BioBenessere” range of products and the basis of the Mediterranean diet. The “BioBenessere” range also includes other high quality products such as balsamic vinegar, wine and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, all products obtained using modern cultivation techniques in respect for the environment and health and guaranteed by the Community control system. The initiative in Miami was aimed at operators of the sector, especially buyers and importers, and journalists and opinion leaders. The aim was to focus attention on the peculiarities of several organic products and their potentials on the American market, which is becoming increasingly more aware of high quality and the naturalness of food production.
