IFOAM and Seeds of Change have announced the opening of the registration for the 1st International IFOAM Conference on Organic Animal and Plant Breeding in Santa Fe, New Mexico (USA) from August 25 to 28, 2009. "We already have a number of people waiting for the registration page to be live. Obviously we are getting a lot of interest!" says Marc Cool from the co-organizer Seeds of Change. “With organic animal and plant breeding, the Conference will address the fundament of organic production. We are aiming for a lively dialogue between researchers and practitioners; commercial and hobby breeders; activists and industry representatives. Bringing together both animal and plant breeding in one conference highlights the interrelatedness and the holistic approach of organic agriculture.

Registration can easily be made online at https://shop.ifoam.org/conference_1/index.php. The deadline for abstract submission has been postponed to the1st of March to allow even more people to respond to the Call for Papers of the Breeding Diversity Conference. "In order to get the full picture presented, we are still looking forward to get more of the latest research papers, best practice examples and innovations in the field of organic breeding." as Louise Luttikholt, ManagerStrategic Relations IFOAM and member of the Steering Committee points out.
